Masses & Prayers
Mass at St Mary's School
Each term, classes take turns to host Monday prayers and present the Gospel at assembly on Friday. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us for these. Monday prayers commence at 8.55am in the church and last about 15 minutes. Friday assembly is also held in the church (sometimes in the school quad on a nice day or if there is a funeral in the church) at 2.20pm and lasts around 30 minutes, the Gospel presentation is the first item shared.
In terms 1 and 3, we also invite family and friends of our school community to join us in celebrating our classroom Masses which are held in each different class throughout the term. These are now held on a Friday morning at 11am and celebrated by Father Sani, our parish priest. At the conclusion of our Mass we share morning tea.
At St Mary’s School we also host 4 whole school Masses throughout the year, one each term. Three of these are on a Sunday morning at 10am and the final Mass is on the last night of school at 6pm. It is an expectation on enrolment that, as members of a Catholic Special Character school, children and their families attend these Masses. At the middle two Masses we celebrate children receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion. The dates are provided at the start of the year and are as follows for this year:

Sunday 8th September - 10am
Thursday 19th December - 6pm

Prayers are an important part of our school life as we build our relationship with God. Here are some we use regularly so you can familiarise yourself with them too.
